Chemistry truly is the “central science.” I’m fascinated by its vital role as the interface between the physical and life sciences. Elsewhere on campus I grow plants with the Botany Club and plan mentorship activities with the Women in Science Colloquium. I also enjoy reading, running, and playing piano.

The wide range of possible applications and its interdisciplinary value are two major factors that convinced me to choose chemistry as a major. I especially appreciate the multitude of intersections chemistry has with my interests in medicine, neuroscience as well as materials science. On campus, I am also part of Taiwanese American Students Association and Princeton Raising and Giving. I also like to paint, read, and learn languages.

I love chemistry. It makes so much sense, and it explains the world from the very essence of matter. It is a wonderful feeling to learn new things and understand life better through chemistry, and it is simply fun.

Chemistry is an exciting subject that allows you to use problem-solving skills. My favorite part about chemistry are the labs where you can actually carry out experiments. The lab is where the chemical reactions come to life. Other than chemistry, I enjoy listening to music, playing ultimate frisbee and eating chocolate.
